De acuerdo con Banxico, casi 20 millones de mexicanos pagan tasas de interés de hasta 68% por sus deudas en tarjetas de crédito y préstamos personales bancarios. Las deudas por tarjetas de crédito podrían convertirse en un grave problema cuando terminen los programas de apoyo de los bancos.
“Muchas personas van a tener deudas más grandes, porque tendrán que cubrir los pagos diferidos, los intereses ordinarios y todo lo que compraron con sus tarjetas en la cuarentena. Eso, sin contar que las tasas siguen igual de elevadas y que el desempleo no deja de ganar terreno”. Eso es lo que señaló Luis Rubén Chávez, CEO de yotepresto.com, fintech de préstamos personales.
A pesar de que el banco central ha reducido la tasa de referencia de manera considerable y sostenida desde hace meses, dicha reducción no se ha visto reflejada de manera significativa en las tasas del crédito al consumo.

El directivo indicó que la consolidación de deudas por tarjetas de crédito puede ser una estrategia efectiva para conservar la tranquilidad financiera, ya que permite pagar el saldo de varias tarjetas de crédito con una tasa más baja.
Si antes de la pandemia ya era buena idea consolidar deudas, ahora será imprescindible para muchas personas, porque vienen meses muy complicados y las cosas no están como para andar pagando más intereses de la cuenta.
De acuerdo con el directivo, de los más de 700 millones de pesos que se han entregado desde la plataforma de yotepresto.com, el 70% han sido para consolidar o transferir deudas de tarjetas y préstamos personales bancarios.
“Eso representa un ahorro en intereses de más de 170 millones de pesos. Otro dato relevante es que, en promedio, conseguimos reducir 22 puntos las tasas que originalmente estaban pagando nuestros usuarios por sus plásticos o créditos personales con el banco”, destacó.
