El presidente de México, López Obrador, fue visitado por William Barr, procurador de EEUU, en la sede de Palacio Nacional. La cita se produce después de una semana de que Donald Trump, comunicara su pretensión de incluir a los cárteles de México como parte de la lista, del Departamento de Estado, con los denominados «grupos terroristas».

López Obrador manifestó después de la cita que William ha mostrado receptividad a la postura del Estado mexicano de respetar la gobernabilidad de México. El mandatario dijo en un discurso: «Como abogado, entiende que nos vemos forzados por la Constitución a observar los fundamentos de coolaboración para el crecimiento y no injerencia en la política exterior».

En los últimos días, el tema ha tensado el contacto entre los dos países. Trump aclaró en una cita concedida al periodista Bill O’Reilly, de tendencia conservadora, que desde hace más de un trimestre estudia la posible clasificación de las entidades criminales mexicanas.

La matanza de la famila americana LeBaron el último mes en la frontera entre Chihuahua y Sonora ha intensificado el discusión entre los dos países respecto a la táctica de protección de México contra los cárteles.

Medios para el combate de la delicuencia

Tras la masacre, Trump aseguró ofrecer a México soporte militar. Y mencionó el envío de las tropas del ejército a la frontera sur.  Por lo que López Obrador descartó la proposición alegando que era un asunto de política interna. Después de la aparición con el mandatario, el procurador Barr se dirigió a la SRE para encontrarse con Marcelo Ebrard, secretario, Alfonso Durazo, secretario de seguridad, y Rafael Ojeda, jefe de la Marina.

El Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores dijo que la charla giró en derredor de delitos que afectan a los dos países. «Discutieron la colaboración en el tráfico de armas, el blanqueo de dinero, el narcotráfico internacional y la forma de combatir conjuntamente la delincuencia organizada», dijo, en un informe, el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores.

López Obrador y la persecución de las estructuras financieras ilegales

El procurador Barr expresó su agradecimiento a las fuerzas mexicanas por sus intentos de investigar la matanza de los LeBaron. «Discutieron la necesidad de perseguir las estructuras financieras ilegales y desmontar el movimiento ilícito de armas, dinero y drogas, tal como de luchar contra la corrupción y reforzar la colaboración para poner a los delincuentes a disposición de la justicia», dijo,en un informe, el Departamento de Justicia .

A partir de septiembre, Ebrard intentó llamar la atención sobre el flujo creciente de armas irregulares. Estas atraviesan la zona fronteriza entre Estados Unidos y México. El secretario de Relaciones Exteriores dijo en esa ocasión que cada día entraban a México 567 armas y que muchas de ellas terminarían en poder de estas agrupaciones criminales.

Para abordar los temas referentes a la situación de seguridad a nivel binacional, se creó en los dos países un Grupo de Seguridad de grado elevado. Junto a las autoridades mexicanas, participa también Christopher Landau, embajador americano en México.

Orientaciones sobre cómo disminuir la delicuencia

El gobierno de Estados Unidos ha aumentado su atención a México en materia de seguridad. Aunque a inicios del año todas las miradas estaban puestas en el asunto de la inmigración. La política de seguridad de Obrador se ha centrado en la implantación de la Guardia Nacional.

Se trata de un sistema de seguridad de tipo militar, que aún no ha llegado a todos los extremos del país. En el cual se registran una media de 100 homicidios diarios. Mientras la violencia no ha disminuido, el presidente de México López Obrador, se ha rehusado a reorientar los intentos de disminuir la delincuencia.
